I think the “dates” are just events that Zane and him have been invited to.

i had never seen that dude before and suddenly i see him and zane together, and seemingly by themselves, i.e. not in a group, going together to places, so it looked like dates

Theory: Zane New role is on a Rom Com Series with Matt Boomer Mid century modern… If this Series Gets a successful Score and reviews Im for sure they are planning season 2 and Froy will be cast

I thought zane was gonna be more of an one off character. Kinda like how in the golden girls they'd often have lovers that'd be in for like one or two episodes
